Shaltas Minerals

Shaltas Minerals is a Kazakh mining company specializing
in the extraction and supply of sodium feldspar
(albite, NaAlSi₃O₈).

Products

For the first time in Kazakhstan, a sodium feldspar (albite) deposit has been opened to develop the mining industry and increase the production of high-quality raw materials for the glass and ceramics industries.

Our sodium feldspar (albite) is used as a primary raw material for glass and ceramics production due to its high purity and Na₂O + K₂O content.

Shaltas Albite Mine

The only sodium feldspar (albite) deposit in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Shaltas albite deposit is located in the Shet District of the Karaganda Region, 15 kilometers southeast of the Bosaga station.

Confirmed reserves: 1,855,000 tons

Origin: albitization of leucocratic granites in the fault zone

Main Applications

Ceramics Industry — porcelain, earthenware, glazes

Glass Industry — flat and technical glass

Abrasives Production — due to hardness of 6–6.5 on the Mohs scale

Chemical Industry — source of aluminosilicates

Construction Materials — tiles, ceramic slabs

Metallurgy — used as a flux in smelting

Mining

Open-Pit Mining

Extraction is carried out using an open-pit method with excavators and front-end loaders. The ore is carefully extracted and sorted by fractions.

Processing and Sorting

After mining, the albite undergoes crushing and sorting by particle size — from 0 to 300 mm. Quality control is conducted at every stage.

Shipping and Delivery

The finished raw material is delivered across Kazakhstan and to foreign countries by road and rail.
Rail loading is carried out at Agadyr Station.
